  1. NEWS! - Scenery Release : Marshall Islands Scenery by Taburet One area that Flight Simulator had in features that X-Plane didn't was significantly in it's water, or specifically in tropical water. X-Plane's water didn't have translucent effects. Flight Simulator didn't either, but it did do excellent visual textures that created realistic reef and tropical coloured water, X-Plane by contrast was a murky grey wherever you went on the planet. That aspect changed with X-Plane 12. The new simulator version has water that is translucent, as an effect, not hidden textures. So now you can create or have tropical clear water with the underlying sandy and coral floors... To date developers have been slow in using the new water features, but things should change quickly and here is one of the first "Tropical" destinations from Taburet. It is the Marshall Islands, or officially the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Set near the Equator in the Pacific Ocean, and slightly west of the International Date Line. Geographically, the country is part of the larger island group of Micronesia. The Marshall Islands is spread out over five five islands and 29 coral atolls, comprising 1,156 individual islands and islets. The capital and largest city is Majuro. It has the largest portion of its territory composed of water of any sovereign state, at 97.87%. The islands share maritime boundaries with Wake Island to the north, Kiribati to the southeast, Nauru to the south, and the Federated States of Micronesia to the west. The atolls included in the scenery are: Alinglaplap; Alluk; Arno; Aur; Bikini; Ebon; Enewetak; Jaluit; Jemo; Kwajalein; Lib; Likiep; Majuro; Maloelap; Mejit; Namu; Taka; Taongi; Ujae; Utirik. Download is 1.72Gb, but this explodes out to 9.62Gb of scenery, into 32 separate files that are placed in your Custom Scenery folder, they have to be correctly aligned in the "scenery packs.INI" text list as well, and to be set below the default Global Airport folder. Features include; Photorealistic coverage at 2 m resolution clouds and color corrected textures of all the atolls dry lands and coral reefs this scenery offer many hours of extremely scenery coral reefs; islands dotted with coconut palms forests flights Can be used in X-Plane 11; however best effects are achieved in X-Plane 12. The Marshall scenery really does exploit translucent X-Plane 12 features well, it looks gorgeous from the air. There is a video that covers the whole of the two chains of islands and atolls. Marshall Islands Scenery is now available from the X-Plane.OrgStore. ________________________________ The Marshall Islands Scenery by Taburet is NOW available here at the X-Plane.OrgStore... Marshall Islands Scenery Price is US$16.99 Requirements X-Plane 12 or X-Plane 11 Windows, Mac or Linux 8 GB VRAM Minimum Download Size: 1.8 GB ___________________________ News by Stephen Dutton 11th April 2023 Copyright©2023: X-Plane Reviews (Disclaimer.
