  1. Thanks for a great and thorough review. I was following the development of XP12 and bought it the day after it was released. I think you were balanced in your comparisons with MSFS, since I expect many sim users (myself included) fly both. I love MSFS and fly mostly GA and bush trips. I love the sense of immersion that MSFS brings, with its ultra realistic scenery. I just put the plane on HDG and ALT and look out the window! But that’s exactly what I would do in real life. Another thing about MSFS is the number of small airports available. The Patagonia bush trip and the French Pyrenees bush trip show these up well. Sadly, many of the little bush strips are missing in XP, so one can’t replicate those awesome trips. Like you, I fly a lot in tropical Queensland (Cape York) and while the scenery in this area is improved, it’s not particularly convincing, yet. Fly a long the World Heritage coast from Port Douglas to Cairns at 1000 feet to see what I mean. I’ve noticed most of my XP11 aircraft haven’t translated well to XP12, so I’ll have to stick with the included aircraft for now. Also, little faults like the sim not recognising my controllers correctly has yet to be worked out. It thought the throttle wheel on my CH Products Fighterstick was the pitch control and vice versa. Still, a work-around was possible. So I’m looking forward to learning how to use XP12 and enjoying the experience. Thanks again for an excellent and helpful review. I plan to file it for reference and re-read it from time-to-time
