Stephen Posted January 17, 2023 Report Share Posted January 17, 2023 Scenery Upgrade : Dolomites UHD XP12 by Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini Over the last six years there has been a significant amount of work in the European Alp and Dolomite Mountain areas by Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini for the X-Plane Simulator. The work in respect is Colossal, huge... get my point. But colossal also meant a bit unwieldy, with so many packed sceneries, and all were tightly inter-meshed together. So if you got the .INI order right it all worked fine, but it was to say all a bit messy. With the release of "ALPS UHD XP12", in early Dec 2022, Frank and Fabio have changed the scenario a little bit (no pun intended). Of the four areas, Eiger Park, Matterhorn Park, Aosta and Mont Blanc and main peaks of the Alps, they were all repackaged together in the "ALPS" pack. The Dolomites UHD XP12 does the same thing. It takes six areas, Brenta Dolomites, Western Dolomites - Val Gardena, Belluno - Southern Dolomites, Cortina - Cadore and Drei Zinnen Park and combines them all together into one package. Plus some extra areas are added in as well. It is a 9Gb scenery in size, so huge. Compared to the Dolomites scenery packages for XP11, many details here have been improved and vast areas added such as LIENZ airport (Austria), Val di Fleres with Tribulaun in 3D, the whole area between Trento and Bolzano, Sappada and Sauris area, Asiago plateau with airport for a total area of over 11000 sq. km. The package now includes all the Dolomite groups, over 64 mountain groups all reconstructed with detailed 3D models with photographic textures.
