Aircraft Update : Boeing 777 Worldliner Pro/Extended v1.8 by FlightFactor/VMax

FlightFactor/VMax have updated their excellent Boeing 777 Series Pro and Extended versions to v1.8. This update is basically revolves around the cockpit and not many changes to the flight or external sections of the aircraft.

777_Heading 1.jpg777_Heading 2.jpg777_Heading 3.jpg777_Heading 4.jpg

This aircraft is quite mature now (as I have noted in other updates) but the odd tweak now and again does not hurt the design. There was a lot of discussion around the cockpit textures since the release of the aircraft, most notable was that they were average or poor. Personally I couldn't see the argument to the point of how notably the textures of being that bad, not perfect I admit as were the gaping holes in the windshield. Even a 3rd party redid the whole lot of textures to which again I couldn't see the really big significant difference? and it was worse on your framerate. But everyone was happy, and what we need in X-Plane is happiness.

777_Cockpit 1.jpg777_Cockpit 2.jpg777_Cockpit 3.jpg777_Cockpit 4.jpg

777_Cockpit 5.jpg777_Cockpit 6.jpg777_Cockpit 7.jpg777_Cockpit 8.jpg

So FlightFactor/VMax has redone the cockpit textures and cleaned up a lot of the knobs and switchgear and the right hand side MFD can now be used. At first it doesn't look much different (because it is so familiar) but after a short period of flying the aircraft you do notice how much more sharper and cleaner everything is, notice the active lighting on the buttons and you can see how much more realistic they are, and some areas are based on the textures used by the 3rd party (pumper) that was significant in the redefining of the cockpit textures. The side (autopilot) eyebrow/glareshield form is much more better as well, and finally you can't finally see the outside scenery through the main instrument panel (top under the glareshield) so your eyes are picking off the changes all over the place and overall it looks far better. There has been far more changes here than meets the eyes, but most will be overlooked as we are very used to most of it.

777_Cockpit night 6.jpg777_Cockpit night 8.jpg

The older night textures looked like this...

777_Cockpit night old 3.jpg777_Cockpit night old 2.jpg777_Cockpit night old 1.jpg777_Cockpit night old 4.jpg

They have gone from a yellowish glow to a greenish glow, but the newer upper images version does look more restrained and more natural. Spot light lighting is also improved as you can see behind the pilot's chairs, these lights are well up and behind and buried in the rear of the cockpit. Side airport map panel looks better as well for quality and readability. There is now also new mouse wheel support (Microsoft C++ redistributable 2013 is required for this to work) for Windows users.

Another change is that now you click the actual speedbrake lever and not the area by the side of the lever. For me this is welcome because you actually had to move you point of view to arm the speedbrakes, a small thing but nice...

I also found you can now see the Co (company) route to load it into the FMC system. That will save you having to go to the aircraft file and delving through the plugins folders to remember what route "Co" name you saved it under, a nice time saver.

777_Landing 1.jpg777_Landing 2.jpg777_Landing 3.jpg777_Landing 4.jpg

777_Landing 9.jpg777_Landing 10.jpg777_Landing 11.jpg777_Landing 12.jpg

There is no doubt the Boeing 777 philosophy in this being a great aircraft for simulation in X-Plane. FlightFactor/VMax have been very good in the updates and keeping the aircraft as one of the best for deep simulation and incredible systems that give you a real understanding and feel of what the Boeing 777 is as an aircraft.

I will just re-note the packages in the Boeing 777 Series.

Boeing 777-200 LR - (Boeing Worldliner Professional)

Boeing 777-200 ER - (Extended Pack - With PW4090 engines)

Boeing 777-300 ER - (Extended Pack)

Boeing 777-200 F    - (Extended Pack)

777- 200LR

777_200LR_1.jpg 777_200LR_2.jpg

777_200LR_3.jpg 777_200LR_4.jpg

777-200ER

777-200ER_ 1.jpg 777-200ER_ 2.jpg

777-200ER_ 3.jpg 777-200ER_ 4.jpg

The -200ER is significant because the Pratt&Whitney PW4090 engines are noticeably smaller than those giant GE90-115B turbofans on the -200LR.

PW4090

777-200ER_EG 1.jpg 777-200ER_EG 2.jpg

GE90-115B

777_GE90 1.jpg 777_GE90 2.jpg

777-300ER

777_300_1.jpg 777_300_2.jpg

777_300_3.jpg 777_300_4.jpg

The B777-300ER is a 33ft stretch over the standard Boeing 777. Now one of the most common B777 version with 721 ordered and only 250 aircraft left to be delivered, you will see plenty of these at your major local hub.

777-200F (Cargo)

777-cargo_1.jpg 777-cargo_2.jpg

777-cargo_3.jpg 777-cargo_4.jpg

The excellent 777-200F comes with a huge side loading cargo door, great for all the haulers...

The v1.8 update covers all versions including the Professional and Extended packages.

Summary

No doubt any update is a good update and again this is a good one, the greenish texture colour is debatable but far better than the ghastly yellow hues. Some areas that should have been addressed, like the over animated wingflex and still none opening front doors? and still you have no-accessible second officer separate FMC (input) unlike what you have on the FF B757 and that is surprising considering how long the aircraft has been released.

But this is a great aircraft, extensive systems machine designed to work like the thing with an accurate flight model. It is certainly a classic in X-Plane and one of the top ten in the simulator. Yes get the Boeing 777, in fact get all of the versions in the extended package you will be wanting nothing.

  • CX looks good on the B777-200LR, yes the -300 would be nice, but it depends on how much you would use it...     You do however get the CX B777F with the extended pack as well?

No these aircraft will never be freeware, there is just too much investment and quality involved for that to happen. But they do come on sale now and again with a few dollars (Rubles) off, so that is your only option. SD

I know that they will be payware all the time. Even at sale offs planes are very expensive, 55 USD (3300-3575 rubles)(latest sale off was black friday sale off) I suppose that these planes are popular in Europe and the USA and unpopular in Russia. In this case, the best decision is decision that will be good for everybody of us.

I don't think that the prices are because these aircraft are popular in the western hemisphere and not in Russia? They are actually made by a Ukranian Team? The prices are what they are because the aircraft is very highly detailed, have full systems and have a huge amount of features, that is what you are paying for, and it is the same for everyone.  SD

Developers made much work to create this great planes. X -plane is popular worldwide and  these planes are not because of high prices. Excuse me,please, for choosing wrong aircraft to get.Competing aircraft for payware Flight factor's 777-200ER, 777-200LR,777-300ER are Samen's freeware A340-300,A340-500,A340-600 as in real life.Tell me,please, what planes better,Flightfactor's or Samens?(Unable to compare because do not have 777s)Let 777s be payware, but price a little less (40 usd for 772 LR,60 usd for all 4 777s)

Hello,

I am new in here. Just downloaded the B777 Pro Extended and I have tried to configure the airplane from cold & dark and even with engines running from the beginning. And I am always having the same issue! PFD´s and all MFD including CDU´s are blanked! I have tried almost everything. Uninstall and install again, it didn't´t work.

Any one could help me?

I am using an iMac.

Well, I did enter the product key, twice.

Yesterday I tried to launch the airplane in night conditions and voila. All Displays were showing their data. But this morning again I tried to fly during the day and all displays showing nothing. They are just like a mirror.

Application was launched with the following command line options...
    '-path'
    '/Users/jaime/Desktop/X-Plane 11/X-Plane.app'

I have 2 questions about x-plane.org store: 1. Are all settlements safe? 2.Is it possible that registered user makes to other registered user(for examle, developer to simple user) present(gift certtificate on ....usd)? Friendship and good relationships are much better than being enemies. There are 2 options to get payware planes:invest own money, get gift certificate on ...usd from other user.Friendship unites,is it right?

Your using this aircraft with XP11? The B777 hasn't been updated to XP11 yet?  And X-Plane11 is still in beta?, you also seem to be very short of disk space?

For the record, mine doesn't work either in XP11?

But this is not the full log.txt? you don't cut and paste the log.txt text in here, but just add the txt. file to the comment below. SD

The X-Plane.OrgStore has been in operation since 2002, so yes it is very safe. I gather you want buy or use a "Gift Certificate" you can do this at the store here: http://store-x-plane-org.3dcartstores.com/Gift-Certificate_p_8.html

Thank you for your answer. If I register at x-plane.org,it means that other registered users can make a gift certificate on... usd.Am I right? I have 2 more questions: How to use gift certificate? Do these planes work in x-plane 10.51(64 bit)? Please, give filled example how to create an account at x-plane.org store. Please, give some test flights for these planes(8-9 hours) Something about aircraft models:I noticed trimmer on rudder and divided elevator(inner and outer),spinnig fans in engines and can suppose all working doors. I can say about these planes only one idea:fly like professional pilot with professional planes

Hello everybody, your suggestion about my wish to get gift certificate is right.I have a question: is it possible that user did not get gift certificate?(for example,me).Nobody helps me in getting these 777s, it is really bad. Please, write a reply if you can help(for example, send a gift certificate on ..usd at x-plane.org store)3 from 4 flightfactor's 777s are powered only by GE90 engines(777F,777-200LR,777-300ER) After getting gift certificate and buying 777s first flight  on one of these aircraft will be in  city where helper lives or closest airport where 777 can land,it is true. For example,if user who sent me gift certificate lives in Gold Coast, first flight on flightfactor's 777 will be  Los Angeles or San Francisco to Brisbane (stopover: Honolulu) GIft sertificate that will be sent to me by other user  will be counted as Christmas present.

Thank you for your answer,I registered at .Org(store and freeware),but unable to get gift certificate.I have questions:is it possible that user did not get gift certificate;do these planes have tutorial? For example, user gets gift certificate on  ...usd,settles money and downloads plane,am I right or not? There are many freeware liveries for these planes at.org. Alternative for real life long and ulra long flights on these 777s is same flights with stopovers(for example,Dubai-Los Angeles, stopovers:London,New York)

Thank you for your answer. No,there is no language barrier,I am unable to buy gift certificate, only get.For example,if I buy gift certificate,it means that other user gets this amount of money, opposite variant is also possible(I get gift certificate on...usd from other user) I have  questions:what should I do to get gift certificate from other user(except registration at .Org and .Org store)?  Do these planes work in X-plane 10.51(64)? After getting these planes I write my opinion on them in thic topic.I do not ask much, just one gift certificate on ...usd to settle these 777s.I do not have friend here and at .org,it makes getting gift certificate difficult for me and other users without friends.I don't know why I can't get gift certificate? I wish I could fly flights like real life 777 pilot. Please, write a reply as soon as possible.

I have a question:how can I write a personal rewiew on these planes without having them?  Happy new year for everybody.Yours sinserely, unlucky x-plane user without realistic 777s and money to settle them. Have all of the known issues people reported, such as FMC route failures, fuel issues, activation keys, etc been resolved or corrected? I want to make sure there are no errors before I purchase this aircraft.

The answer is yes and no...  In X-Plane10 the aircraft is complete, In X-Plane11 the aircraft has not been updated yet. So most of the issues they are complaining about are void because they are trying to use an X-Plane10 version in X-Plane11?  If you do want to use the aircraft in X-Plane11 I doubt the update will be too far away, maybe within the next few weeks, still a worthy investment...  SD
